Dr. Ames is currently focusing on the promotion of Biomimetic Dentistry to Patients and Dentists.

Dr. Ames is the Founding President of the Academy of Biomimetic Dentistry.
She attained this position following her search for tooth-conserving dentistry which respects the vitality of teeth. 80% of the procedures in any given practice are done on teeth which have had a previous restoration. The old paradigm of "Drill, Fill and Bill" is the cause of these numbers. Her passion for keeping teeth vital, in concert with other progressive practitioners, led to the formation of the Academy.
Biomimetic Dentistry is a very tooth-conservative approach to fixing damaged teeth. Biomimetic dentistry is a scientifically proven technique that focuses on the correct bonding and sealing of broken or decayed teeth in a way that copies nature. This means that more of your natural tooth is preserved during every dental procedure at our office.
Dr. Ames does not use amalgams in her restorations and new crowns are placed rarely; if ever.
Dr. Ames is married and the mother of two who are now in college. She volunteers for the Townwide Fund of Huntington. She is an avid boater and resides in the Greenlawn area.
Dr. Matlach has been practicing in the Huntington area for the last 15 years.
